Gifted Teacher
I began teaching at Jack Hayes in 1994 as a second grade teacher. After teaching second grade for 7 years, I moved to fourth grade math where I remained for 12 years. Five years ago I moved to the gifted position where I teach math and science to our academically gifted students.
My career as a teacher begin in 1987 as a fifth grade teacher at Grayson Elementary in Caldwell Parish. I taught at Grayson for 3 years and then moved to Baton Rouge with my husband so that he could attend LSU. During my time in Baton Rouge, I taught third grade at North Highlands Elementary. After 2 years, we moved back to Monroe and I was offered a fifth grade position at Robinson Elementary in Ouachita Parish. I taught at Robinson for 2 years and then I accepted a position at Jack Hayes Elementary where I have taught for the last twenty-four years.
